The Dangers of Forklift Operations: Changing Operator Behavior

Please join us on May 21, 2013 at 7:30 am for this great opportunity to hear Dan Lewis, Safety Manager of the Southwire Company Utility Products Plant discuss the dangers of forklift operations and operator behavior.
Dan has over 25 years of experience in fire service, military, chemical, nuclear, oil exploration and manufacturing.  Currently the Safety Manager of a 60 yr old manufacturing facility experiencing a culture shift in pursuit of the VPP Star certification, Dan will focus on the dangers created in the workplace by the operation of forklifts and their associated costs.
He will discuss multiple strategies, including engineering controls (technology-forklift safety equipment), administrative controls (management buy-in, supervisor oversight, training, policies, operator’s handbook, etc.), and finally, operator behavior shifting techniques.   We have had lots of requests for presentation related to forklift operations and Dan is the expert!
The Breakfast Club is on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and is a great opportunity for area Human Resources, Safety & Risk Management and Operations Managers to network, share, and gather  information that will be useful to each of them in their work.  Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP  to Sammy Karvelas at: if you’re interested in attending.
